Techniques are provided for monitoring particle laden flows in a pipe, that include receiving signalling containing information about a parameter related to a particle laden flow in a pipe, the parameter including either (a) a sound level propagating through the particle laden flow in the pipe, or (b) a static pressure due to an acceleration of the parti-cle laden flow in the pipe; and determining a measurement of a particle size and either a mass flow rate, or a particle-to-air mass ratio, or both the mass flow rate and the particle-to-air mass ratio, associated with the parti-cle laden flow, based at least partly on a change in the parameter.

L'invention porte sur des techniques de surveillance d'écoulements chargés en particules dans un tuyau, lesquelles techniques comprennent la réception d'une signalisation contenant des informations concernant un paramètre associé à un écoulement chargé en particules dans un tuyau, le paramètre comprenant soit (a) un niveau sonore se propageant à travers l'écoulement chargé en particules dans le tuyau, soit (b) une pression statique due à une accélération de l'écoulement chargé en particules dans le tuyau ; et la détermination d'une mesure d'une dimension de particule et de l'un ou l'autre d'un débit massique ou d'un rapport massique particule à air, ou à la fois du débit massique et du rapport massique particule à air, associés à l'écoulement chargé en particules, sur la base au moins partiellement d'un changement du paramètre.
