The present invention provides a reinforced tape including a visually transparent backing layer, a reinforcing scrim preferably of fibers made of visually transparent material along one surface of the backing, and a layer of transparent adhesive covering but not totally wetting the reinforcing scrim so that the scrim is visible along the backing layer before the tape is applied to give a user a visual indication of the strength of the tape. The indexes of refraction of the material of the fibers in the scrim and of the adhesive are similar so that when the layer of adhesive is pressed against a substrate through the backing layer, the adhesive will more totally wet the fibers of the reinforcing scrim, causing them to become significantly less visible in the reinforced tape adhered to the substrate.
La présente invention concerne une bande renforcée constituée d'une couche structurante visuellement transparente, d'un renfort tissé de préférence à base de fibres en matière transparente, ce renfort venant contre une face de la couche structurante, et d'une couche de colle transparente. La colle couvre le renfort tissé sans le mouiller totalement. Ainsi, avant l'application de la bande, le renfort reste visible contre la couche structurante, ce qui permet à l'utilisateur de constater de visu la résistance de la bande. Les indices de réfraction de la matière des fibres du renfort tissé et de la colle sont semblables. Ainsi, lorsqu'on fait pression sur la couche de colle au travers de la couche structurante pour l'application contre un substrat, la colle vient mouiller plus complètement les fibres du renfort tissé, qui de ce fait deviennent sensiblement moins visibles dans la bande renforcée collée sur le substrat.
