Melatonin is used in the manufacture of a medicament for treating a multidrug addict, or a patient who has symptoms of having become dependent on, tolerant of, or addicted to a benzodiazepine drug, or for treating a patient who has been clinically diagnosed as having a condition susceptible to alleviation by administration of a benzodiazepine drug, while simultaneously preventing the occurrence in the patient of symptoms of dependence on, tolerance of, or addiction to said benzodiazepine drug. The invention further relates to a pharmaceutical formulation for the above-stated purposes, which comprises at least one diluent, carrier or adjuvant and as active ingredients a benzodiazepine drug and melatonin.
La mélatonine est utilisée pour la fabrication d'un médicament permettant de traiter une personne souffrant d'accoutumance à plusieurs drogues, ou un patient qui présente des symptômes de dépendance, de tolérance ou d'accoutumance à une benzodiazépine, ou permettant de traiter un patient chez qui on a diagnostiqué cliniquement une condition sensible à l'apaisement suite à l'administration d'une benzodiazépine. En outre, ledit médicament permet dans le même temps d'éviter la survenue chez le patient de symptômes de dépendance, de tolérance ou d'accoutumance à ladite benzodiazépine. Cette invention concerne également une formulation pharmaceutique destinée aux types de traitement ci-dessus mentionnés, cette formulation comprenant au moins un diluant, un porteur ou un adjuvant et, en temps qu'ingrédients actifs, une benzodiazépine et de la mélatonine.
