In order to minimize the energy required to operate a rail vehicle, within the drive system, which comprises an indirect converter 1 and a three-phase motor 7 that is supplied with power therefrom, the intermediate circuit voltage in the intermediate circuit 12 and/or the magnetic flux in the drive motor 7 are optimized according to the actual operating demands; optionally, the energy outlay for the auxiliaries 9 that cool these components is also included

Selon l'invention, pour minimiser l'énergie requise pour le fonctionnement un véhicule sur rail, la tension de circuit intermédiaire est optimisée dans le circuit intermédiaire (12) et/ou le flux magnétique est optimisé dans le moteur d'entraînement (7) conformément aux conditions de service effectives, dans le système d'entraînement qui présente un mutateur de circuit intermédiaire (1) et un moteur triphasé (7) alimenté depuis ledit mutateur. La consommation d'énergie requise pour des services auxiliaires (9) pour assurer le refroidissement des composants est éventuellement comprise dans cette optimisation.
