-29- PROCESS FOR PREPARING A THERAPEUTIC AGENT FOR ROTAVIRUS INFECTION ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Skimmed colostrum or colostrum whey is treated with an ultrafiltration membrane having a fractionation molecular weight of 5 - 15 x 104 so as to separate intact physiologl- cally active proteins from the bovine milk. The yield of immunoglobulins contained in the separated proteins is about twice as high as the value achieved by the prior art and their quality is superior. The intact physiologically active proteins obtained by this method contain all immuno- globulins that have high neutralization antibody titres against the seven serotypes of rotavirus. Hence, rotavirus infection can be effectively prevented or treated by admin- istering these proteins to humans or animals in the form of either a pharmaceutical agent or a beverage or food that contain such proteins.
