A binding (10) includes a suspension heel loop (34) formed by an upper member (62) pivotally connected to the base (60) of the binding frame (16). The heel loop (34) flexes or moves in a controlled manner with respect to the binding base (28) at the heel end of the binding (10). A binding having the suspension heel loop (34) provides greater maneuvering and board control, and thus improves rider performance, while providing shock and vibration absorption capabilities for increasing the overall comfort of the binding during use.
