A cement mix suitable for blocking or plugging an abandoned pipeline or back filling a mine shaft, tunnel or excavations contains (i) Portland cement or a mixture of at least two components selected from Portland cement, fly ash, slag, silica fume, gypsum, bentonite and limestone; (ii) diatomaceous earth; (iii) zeolite, (iv) an aluminum silicate and (v) an inorganic salt accelerator. The cement mix may further contain an alkali metasilicate and/or alkali silicate. A cementitious slurry, formulated from the cement mix, may have a density less than or equal to 1500 kg/m3, and exhibits good compressive strength.
Un mélange de ciment pour bloquer ou boucher un pipeline abandonné ou pour remblayer un puits de mine, un tunnel ou des excavations. Ce mélange contient : i) du ciment Portland ou un mélange d'au moins deux composants choisis parmi le groupe constitué de ciment Portland, de cendres volantes, de laitier, de fumées de silice, de gypse, de bentonite et de calcaire; ii) de la terre à diatomées; iii) de la zéolite; iv) un silicate d'aluminium; v) un accélérateur à base de sel inorganique. Le mélange de ciment peut aussi contenir un métasilicate alcalin et/ou un silicate alcalin. Une boue cimentaire formulée à partir de ce mélange de ciment peut avoir une masse volumique inférieure ou égale à 1500 kg/m3, et exhiber une bonne résistance à la compression.
