Disclosed is a cosmetic composition for topical application to the skin. The cosmetic composition comprises micronsized, polymer-coated glass ball lenses having a polymer coating on the exterior surface thereof. The polymer-coated glass ball lenses are enhanced by engineered illumination and optics, and the appearance of the skin to which the cosmetic is applied is observable without masking the underlying skin.
