A system and method are provided for thermally treating tissues in percutaneous surgery or endoluminal treatments. The system consists of at least one catheter for thermally treating a tissue, hydraulic unit for circulating fluids through the catheters and a control station by which an operator is displayed with, and inputs and/or modifies, working parameters of the system. The catheters have an operational face, which is optionally expandable and encloses a lumen through which the fluids are circulated. The method disclosed implements cooling of the targeted tissue prior to its heating. For heating and or cooling the tissues, the operational face of a catheter is pressed against a surface of the targeted tissue while heat emitted from or conducted to the tissue is respectively transferred into or from the circulated fluids.
L'invention concerne un système et un procédé de traitement thermique de tissus dans la chirurgie percutanée ou dans des traitements endoluminaux. Le système consiste en au moins un cathéter de traitement thermique d~un tissu, une unité hydraulique pour faire circuler des fluides à travers les cathéters et un poste de commande permettant à l~opérateur d~afficher, de saisir et/ou de modifier les paramètres de travail du système. Les cathéters possèdent une face opérationnelle, qui est éventuellement extensible et renferme une cavité à travers laquelle les fluides sont mis en circulation. Le procédé divulgué met en AEuvre le refroidissement du tissu ciblé avant de le chauffer. Pour chauffer et/ou refroidir les tissus, la face opérationnelle d~un cathéter est comprimée contre une surface du tissu ciblé tandis que la chaleur émise du tissu ou acheminée vers le tissu est respectivement transférée dans les deux sens avec les fluides mis en circulation.
