The invention concerns photochromic compounds with formula (I), in which R1 is an asymmetric aliphatic monocyclic group with formula (II), where 1 = 1-12, and R9 is H or an alkyl, alkoxy, dialkylamino, alkyl ester or CN group with the condition that at least one of the R9 groups is not H, R2-R7 can have a variety of meanings, A represents a (hetero)aromatic ring which can be substituted and n is a whole number. Application to the production of photochromic articles made of organic polymer, notably lenses.

L'invention concerne des composés photochromiques représentés par la formule (I). Dans ladite formule, R<1> est un groupe aliphatique monocyclique asymétrique dont la formule est (II). Dans ladite formule, 1 = 1-12, et R<9> est H ou un groupe alkyle, alcoxy, dialkylamino, alkyle ester ou CN, à condition qu'au moins un des groupes R<9> ne soit pas H; avec la possibilité que R<2>-R<7> puissent avoir une variété de significations, et où A représente un anneau (hétéro)aromatique pouvant être substitué et où n est un nombre entier. Les composés considérés sont utiles pour la production d'articles photochromiques à base de polymères organiques, notamment les lentilles.
