Disclosed is a conditioning shampoo composition comprising: (1) a pentaerythritol ester oil; (2) a detersive surfactant selected from the group consisting of anionic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants, nonionic surfactants, and mixtures thereof; (3) an additional conditioning agent selected from the group consisting of silicone compounds, cationic polymers, high melting point compounds, and mixtures thereof; and (4) an aqueous carrier.
