The present invention relates to a process for preparing, in particular, enantiomerically enriched L-.alpha.-amino acids, in particular those of the general formula (I). In this connection, the process according to the invention uses 2-ketocarboxylic acids which are converted into the desired products using a whole-cell catalyst which comprises an amino acid dehydrogenase and a cofactor-regenerating enzyme.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de préparer, notamment, des L-?-aminoacides enrichis sur le plan énantiomère, notamment des aminoacides représentés par la formule générale (I). A cet égard, le procédé selon l'invention utilise des acides 2-cétocarboxyliques qui sont convertis en des produits désirés au moyen d'un catalyseur à cellules entières qui comprend une déshydrogénase d'aminoacide et un enzyme de régénération du cofacteur.
