On réalise un bloc par juxtaposition et assemblage d'au moins une plaque en acier à outil et d'au moins une plaque en acier doux. On lamine le bloc à chaud puis on le refroidit à une température- inférieure à 200°C. On effectue un revenu du bloc laminé à une température supérieure à 450°C, aprés le refroidissement. La tôle plaquée obtenue comporte une couche en acier à outil ayant une structure martensitique revenue et renfermant des carbures primaires et une fine dispersion de carbures secondaires.
