A water based primer and a method for protecting iron or steel materials against corrosion by first priming with a water borne primer composition containing a) a binder of one or more acrylic copolymers based on one or more acrylic monomers and one or more chlorinated monomers, b) a corrosion inhibiting pigment, c) one or more further pigments, d) optionally conventional additives and/or adjuvants, and e) water and then coating with a bituminous material. Contrary to the current primers on organic solvent basis the water borne primer gives low to no emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and still fulfils the requirements for anti- corrosive effect, cohesive and adhesive strength.
La présente invention concerne un primaire aqueux et un procédé de protection de matériaux en fer ou en acier contre la corrosion par l~application en premier lieu d~une composition de primaire aqueux contenant a) un liant d'un ou plusieurs copolymères acryliques à base d~un ou plusieurs monomères acryliques et d~un ou plusieurs monomères chlorés, b) un pigment inhibant la corrosion, c) un ou plusieurs pigments supplémentaires, d) éventuellement, des additifs et/ou des adjuvants classiques et e) de l'eau, et par l~enduction subséquente d~un matériau bitumeux. Au contraire des primaires actuels à base de solvant organique, le primaire aqueux dégage peu ou pas de composés organiques volatils (COV) et remplit toujours les conditions nécessaires à un effet anti-corrosif et à une force cohésive et adhésive.
