ABSTRACT Apparatus for measuring radioactive emission from a particle. The apparatus includes a number of elongate crystal detectors which are arranged with their axes parallel to each other and to a passage extending through the detectors. A photomultiplier is associated with each detector and is connected to it by means of an optical prism. The apparatus provides a compact arrangement which is capable of dealing with particles which have a low level of radioactive emission and which can be shielded against stray radiation relatively inexpensively.
