ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A simple golf green maintenance kit, which is easy to carry and use includes a rectangular, open top tray with grooved end walls for snugly receiving the handle and bottom end of a sod plug handling device. The sod plug handling device includes an elongated tubular barrel with a T-shaped handle on the closed top end thereof and a sharp open bottom end for insertion into a green to cut and remove a sod plug, a ring adjustably mounted on the barrel for varying the height of the sod plug, a ram slidably mounted in the barrel for pushing a sod plug out of the bottom end thereof, and a handle rotatable on the outside of the barrel and connected to the plunger for moving the latter between a retracted position in the barrel and an extended, sod plug discharge position.
