A ventilating body window for motor vehicles in which the window pane or the window to be opened is pivotable about an essentially vertical pivot axis, located in front in the direction of motion, and which can be locked in the respective position, is constructed in such a way that the window can be mounted in a simple manner and can be completely produced at low cost. For this purpose, according to the invention, it is provided that across the window pane, clamping elements which are arranged at a distance from each other grip along the periphery of the pane and have two arms resting on the window pane surface while facing each other and are held on the window pane edge by means of an adhesive, provided between the clamping element and the window pane. The clamping elements are arranged on supports, also attachable at a distance from each other, to the body and consisting of sheet metal and having an angled-off section in the area of the window pane, which grips across the outer surface of one or the other arm and wherein the entire arrangement is surrounded by a frame which may consist of PVC or other materials, such as elastomers or the like and which is applied to the edge of the window pane by extrusion-coating.
