- 1 - Abstract of the Disclosure According to a method and with an apparatus for closing an opening of a tubular container, which is intended in particular for liquids and comprises at least on one side sealably coated paper or cardboard material, the upper container opening is closed by folding together and joining the four container sides in the upper region. In order that on the one hand the closure can be easily opened by drawing up one side of the closure/ which forms a spout, and consequently on the other hand the four folded-together container sides are joined together in a securely sealing manner, after folding together the four container sides a film-like closing element is adhesively attached to the inner face of the end face of the container. Consequently, in particular the exposed folding edges of the container sides are sealed and firmly joined to the adjacent regions of the respective neighboring sides, without folded-together faces being adhesively attached to one another. During opening of the container by drawing up a so-called spout side of the closure, the closing element is easily severed along the folding edges by which the drawn-up side is joined, so that an easy opening of the closure is possible.
