A woven synthetic fabric tubular vascular graft including a stiffening component in the filling yarn which is self supporting without crimping the walls of the graft. The graft is woven from warp ends of multifilament polyester yarns and elastomeric yarns and a filling yarn which includes multifilament and monofilament polyester yarns which have been twisted together, Longitudinal and radial compliance provides for improved kink resistance making the tubular grafts suitable for use in medium and small diameter peripheral applications. A preferred graft has a velour outer surface and a smooth inner surface.

L'invention se rapporte à une greffe vasculaire de forme tubulaire en tissu synthétique tissé, qui comporte dans le fil de trame un composant de renforcement lui conférant des caractéristiques d'autoportance sans qu'il soit nécessaire d'en plisser les parois. La greffe est tissée à partir d'extrémités de chaîne de fils polyester multifilament et de fils élastomères, et à partir d'un fil de trame contenant des fils polyester multifilament et monofilament ayant été entrelacés. L'élasticité longitudinale et radiale du tissu confère à de telles greffes de forme tubulaire une meilleure résistance au vrillage, de sorte qu'elles sont avantageusement utilisables dans des vaisseaux périphériques de diamètre petit à moyen.
