Disclosed is a compound represented by the general formula (Ia) or a salt thereof, which is a novel compound having a structure similar to that of curcumin and having an inhibitory activity on A.beta. aggregation, an activity of degrading an A.beta. aggregate, an inhibitory activity on .beta.-secretase and a neuronal cell protection activity. (Ia) wherein R1 represents a 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl group or the like; and Ra2 represents a 1H-indol-6-yl group or the like.
La présente invention concerne un composé représenté par la formule générale (Ia) ou un sel de celui-ci, qui est un nouveau composé ayant une structure analogue à celle de la curcumine et ayant une activité inhibitrice de l'agrégation A.beta., une activité de dégradation d'un agrégat A.beta., une activité inhibitrice de la .beta.-sécrétase et une activité de protection des cellules neuronales. (Ia) où R1 représente un groupe 4-hydroxy-3-méthoxyphényle ou analogue ; et Ra2 représente un groupe 1H-indol-6-yle ou analogue.
