A milk bag dispensing system loads side by side milk bags from a conveyor into a containment bag. The dispensing system comprises a chute having a lower end flap which is movable from a horizontal bag holding to a vertical milk bag dropping position. A wicket is provided which holds the containment bag in front of the flap and a pneumatic bag opener blows the containment bag on the wicket to a partially open position. In addition, bag pullers are provided outside of the ends of the flap and pull the containment bag from the partially open position towards the chute such that the flap when moving to the vertical position opens down into the containment bag.
