PATENT ASH-0001-CAN-P ABSTRACT A high lift tag axle (10) for a concrete mixer truck or the like is pivotally attached to the rear of the truck through a pair of tag arms (32) each having a lever arm (82), with a linkage arrangement (74), (75), (84), (86) and (88) interconnecting each lever arm (82) to the truck frame (10), and a hydraulic cylinder (70) connected to said linkage arrangement (74), (75), (84), (86) and (88) to align the linkage arrangement (74), (75), (84), (86) and (88) in a plane sufficient to lock the lift axle (30) in a downward position where the wheels (42) engage the road surface, and whereby the hydraulic cylinder (70) can pivot as the linkage arrangement (74), (75), (84), (86) and (88) sufficient to pivot the tag axle into a position whereby the wheels (42) are raised off of the road surface.
