Abstract of the Disclosure An advertising sample device is provided for a product which has a distinctive fragrance and which is sold in a container with a removable top. The device includes a laminar base portion comprising first and second sheets secured together in facing relation, with either or both of the sheets having a peripheral contour corresponding to the contour of the container for the product, and an upper portion including a depending tongue part received between the sheets and a further part having a contour corresponding to that of the removable top of the container. The tongue part has disposed thereon, on a surface thereof in engagement with one of the sheets, a layer of rupturable micro-capsules containing the fragrant substance. The upper portion is capable of sliding movement relative to the base portion so as to simulate opening of the container by removal of the top thereof and so that corresponding movement of the tongue part causes rupture of these micro-capsules and the attendant release of the fragrant product. 11
