Two separate paraffinic hydrocarbon products, such as normal and monomethyl branched C10 - C23 paraffins, are recovered from a mixture comprising the product hydrocarbons and many other hydrocarbons in a process employing two adsorptive separation zones in series. A single desorbent comprising a light paraffin is used in both zones and recovered in a single system, thus reducing capital and operating costs. The recovered paraffinic hydrocarbons may then be dehydrogenated and reacted with benzene to form alkylaromatic hydrocarbons useful as a detergent precursor.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de récupérer deux produits hydrocarbonés paraffiniques séparés, tels que des paraffines C¿10? - C¿23? ramifiées normales et monométhyliques, à partir d'un mélange comprenant les produits hydrocarbonés et de nombreux autres hydrocarbures, ledit procédé faisant appel à deux zones de séparation par adsorption en série. Un seul désorbant comprenant une paraffine légère est utilisé dans les deux zones et récupéré dans un seul système, ce qui réduit les coûts d'investissement et d'exploitation. On peut ensuite déshydrogéner les hydrocarbures paraffiniques récupérés et les faire réagir avec du benzène pour former des hydrocarbures alkylaromatiques pouvant être utilisés comme précurseur de détergent.
