The present invention discloses a device and method that allows the installation of construction materials, such as drywall, by a single person. The device comprises an extension (or hoist) section coupled at one end to a support which can receive and support a piece of drywall during installation. The extension section is further coupled to a base portion at the end opposite to the support. The base portion includes a pivot feature that serves to lift the drywall once it has been positioned on the support. The extension is adjustable to install drywall on a stud wall at various heights. Advantageously, the device is lightweight, easily transportable and easy to use. The device's convenient design enables its utilization immediately upon reaching a construction site.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif et une méthode permettant l'installation par une seule personne de matériaux de construction, par exemple des cloisons sèches. Le dispositif comprend une partie allongée (ou palan) raccordée à une extrémité d'un support qui peut recevoir et soutenir une partie de cloison sèche lors de son installation. La partie allongée est également raccordée à une base à l'extrémité opposée du support. La base comprend un pivot qui sert à soulever la cloison sèche une fois cette dernière mise en position sur le support. La partie allongée peut être réglée pour l'installation d'une cloison sèche sur un colombage à des hauteurs diverses. Un avantage du dispositif réside dans sa légèreté, sa facilité de transport et d'utilisation. La conception pratique du dispositif le rend utilisable immédiatement à son arrivée à un chantier de construction.
