A copyright protection scheme is provided in which data is downloaded from a server (1), typically over the World Wide Web (2) to a client (3), for presentation to a user. The downloaded data is cryptographically protected, by encryption and hashing. When displayed by the client, storing and copying functions are selectively disabled in respect of the data, in order to prevent unauthorised copying.

On décrit un système de protection du droit d'auteur dans lequel des données sont téléchargées depuis un serveur (1) (en général un serveur du Web (2)) vers un client (3), pour être présentées à un utilisateur. Les données téléchargées sont cryptographiées par chiffrage et hachage. Une fois les données affichées par le client, les fonctions de stockage et de copie sont sélectivement désactivées relativement aux données pour empêcher une copie non autorisée.
