A firefighter garment having a torso portion with a waste segment covering a lower back area of a wearer and a support member, attached to the torso portion at the waste segment, for supporting a lumbar region of the wearer. The support member preferably includes a plurality of elastic bands extended about the waste segment of the garment and having complimentary closure members positioned adjacent to the frontal area of the garment, and a contact member, attached to the elastic straps, positioned to contact the lumbar region of the wearer. In one embodiment the elastic straps are integral with the garment, preferably a pant, and in another embodiment, the support member comprises a girdle which is attachable to the firefighter pant and includes buttons for attachment to suspenders thereby performing a component of a pant suspension system.
Cette invention concerne un vêtement de protection pour sapeurs-pompiers qui comporte,à la hauteur de la taille, un support lombaire intégré. Ce support comprend de préférence une série de bandes élastiques faisant tout le tour du vêtement, comportant à leurs extrémités des éléments de fermeture complémentaires qui s'attachent sur le devant et dotés vis-à-vis la région lombaire du porteur d'éléments de protection et de soutien. Dans une variante, les bandes élastiques font partie intégrante du vêtement, de préférence un pantalon, et dans une autre variante, le support lombaire se présente sous la forme d'une gaine qui peut s'attacher au pantalon et comprend des boutons pour sa fixation à des bretelles.
