New process for the preparation of bipyrrolidinyl compounds of formula I wherein * signifies an asymmetric centre with an (R) or (S) configuration and X represents chlorine, bromine or iodine. In particular they are useful for the production of antibacterial substances for example like vinylpyrrolidinone- cephalosporin derivatives.
