Process for manufacturing epichlorohydrin comprising the following steps: a) in a liquid reaction medium, a mixture of 1,3 - dichloro - 2 - propanol and 2,3 - dichloro - 1 - propanol, in which the 1,3 - dichloro - 2 - propanol content is at least 10 wt%, is reacted with at least one basic compound in order to form epichlorohydrin and a salt; and b) at least one part of the liquid reaction medium from step a) is subjected to a settling operation in which at least a first fraction containing most of the epichlorohydrin which was contained in the part of the reaction medium from step a) before the settling operation and a second fraction containing most of the salt which was contained in the part of the reaction medium from step a) before the settling operation are separated.
L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'épichlorohydrine comprenant les étapes suivantes: a) dans un milieu réactionnel liquide, un mélange de1,3 - dichloro - 2 - propanol et de 2,3 - dichloro - 1 - propanol, dans lequel la teneur en 1,3 - dichloro - 2 - propanol est au moins égale à 10% en poids, est mis à réagir avec au moins un composé de base de manière à former de l'épichlorohydrine et un sel; et b) au moins une partie du milieu réactionnel liquide de l'étape a) est soumise à une opération de décantation dans laquelle au moins une première fraction contenant la majeure partie de l'épichlorohydrine qui était contenue dans la partie du milieu réactionnel de l'étape a) avant l'opération de décantation et une seconde fraction contenant la majeure partie du sel qui était contenu dans la partie du milieu réactionnel de l'étape a) avant l'opération de décantation sont séparées.
