A solution process for the purification of calcium hydroxide, particularly from hydrated carbide lime, which is subsequently used as a feed stock for a high-value calcium product, preferably calcium carbonate. Precipitated calcium carbonate is formed by reaction of the purified calcium hydroxide solution with carbon dioxide in a plug-flow reaction system.
Cette invention se rapporte à un processus en solution destiné à la purification d'hydroxyde de calcium, notamment à partir de chaux au carbure de calcium hydratée, ledit hydroxyde de calcium étant ensuite utilisé comme charge d'alimentation pour la fabrication d'un produit de grande valeur contenant du calcium, de préférence du carbonate de calcium. On obtient le précipité de carbonate de calcium en faisant réagir une solution d'hydroxyde de calcium purifié avec du dioxyde de carbone dans un réacteur à écoulement idéal.
