A method of removing the foreground subject (2) and its shadow from a series of image frames including a subject (2) before a colored backing (3) being photographed by a moving camera during a live broadcast. The method employed identify, for each frame, those pixels set to an RGB level of zero, to create an image of colored backing in which the subject area is reduced to black (24). The image of colored backing is smeared (27, 19) to obliterate defined edges of the subject's shadow and to smear (27, 19) the color of backing into the black area previously occupied by the subject to generate a clear frame (20). The clear frame is utilized to compensate for backing luminance and color nonuniformity, thereby preventing visibility of the joining edge of generated windows that extend the backing to the edge of frame.
L'invention porte sur un procédé d'effacement d'un sujet (2) de premier plan et de son ombre d'une série d'images contenant ledit sujet (2) se présentant devant un fond en couleur (3) et photographié par une caméra mobile pendant une émission en direct. Ledit procédé identifie dans chaque image les pixels placés à un niveau RVB nul, pour créer une image à fond en couleur dans laquelle la zone du sujet est réduite au noir (24). L'image du fond est étalée (27, 19) de manière à recouvrir les contours définis de l'ombre du sujet et à étaler (27, 19) la couleur du fond dans la zone de noir précédemment occupée par le sujet de manière à produire une image claire (20) qui sert à compenser les défauts d'uniformité de luminance du fond et des couleurs et à empêcher de voir les lisières de raccordement des fenêtres produites qui étendent le fond jusqu'au bords de l'image.
