The invention relates to a method for printing mail (10). The mail (10) is fed to a printing device (60) by means of conveyance and is printed in said printing device (60). The invention is characterized in that the mail (10) is fed by a first means of conveyance (20) associated with a rotating device (40) used to rotate and/or turn the mail (10); graphic characteristics of at least the surface of the mail (10) are detected during conveyance of the mail (10) on the first means of conveyance; the graphic characteristics thus detected are evaluated, information being obtained from the result of the evaluation of the graphic characteristics determining which surface of the mail (10) is to be printed; the rotating device (40) rotates and/or turns the mail (10) in such a way that the surface of the mail (10) to be printed is oriented in a desired manner and fed to a printing means disposed in the printing device.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour imprimer des envois postaux (10), qui sont amenés par un moyen de transport à un dispositif d'impression (60) dans lequel ils sont imprimés. L'invention est caractérisée en ce que les envois postaux (10) sont acheminés par un premier moyen de transport (20) sur un dispositif de rotation (40) qui les (10) retourne, des caractéristiques graphiques d'au moins une surface des envois (10) étant saisies pendant leur acheminement par le premier moyen de transport (20). Ces caractéristiques graphiques saisies sont analysées, le résultat de cette analyse se traduisant par des informations relatives à la surface des envois (10) prévue pour l'impression. Selon l'invention, le dispositif de rotation (40) retourne les envois postaux (10) de telle sorte que leur surface à imprimer est amenée dans un sens précis vers un moyen d'impression situé dans le dispositif d'impression.
