It is intended to provide an agent for preventing and/or ameliorating life style-related diseases which contains, as the active ingredient, a substance originating in a highly safe food material having been frequently taken and is usable in health foods and functional foods such as food with health claims (foods for specified health uses and foods with nutritional functional claims). Namely, an agent for preventing and/or ameliorating life style- related diseases characterized by containing, as the active ingredient, at least one compound selected from the group consisting of ar-turmeron, .alpha.- turmeron, .beta.-turmeron, curlone, bisacumol and .beta.-sesquiphellandrene, or at least one compound selected from among bisabolane-type sesquiterpenoids originating in Curcuma longa L. This agent is useful in preventing and/or ameliorating life style-related diseases such as diabetes, visceral fat-type obesity, metabolic syndrome and obesity.
Il est prévu un agent pour prévenir et/ou améliorer les maladies liées au mode de vie contenant, comme ingrédient actif, une substance provenant d'un matériau alimentaire hautement salubre ayant été pris fréquemment et utilisable dans les aliments naturels et les aliments fonctionnels comme les aliments avec des demandes de remboursement de frais médicaux (aliments pour utilisations médicale spécifiques et aliments avec demandes fonctionnelles nutritionnelles). C'est-à-dire, un agent pour prévenir et/ou améliorer les maladies liées au mode de vie caractérisées par le fait de contenir, comme ingrédient actif, au moins un composé sélectionné dans le groupe constitué d'ar-turmeron, .alpha.-turmeron, .beta.-turmeron, curlone, bisacumol et .beta.-sesquiphellandrene, ou au moins un composé sélectionné parmi les sesquiterpenoids de type bisabolane provenant de Curcuma longa L. Cet agent est utile pour la prévention et/ou l'amélioration des maladies liées au mode de vie comme les diabètes, l'obésité de type viscérale, le syndrome métabolique et l'obésité.
