It is intended to provide a novel transcriptional activator GCX-1 which is specific to a reproductive organ and seemingly plays an important role in the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonad axis. A novel gene GCX-1 (SEQ ID NO:2) overexpressed in the ovarian is isolated from a rat ovarian granulocyte cDNA library. By examining an abnormality in this gene and its gene product (SEQ ID NO:1) or an abnormality in the production thereof or developing a drug acting on its transcriptional activation region, it is possible to clarify causes of diseases induced by abnormalities in reproductive organs (for example, infertility, polycystic ovary diseases, endometriosis, pubertas praecox and osteoporosis) and treat these diseases.
L'invention concerne un nouvel activateur transcriptionnel GCX-1, qui est spécifique à un organe reproducteur et joue apparemment un rôle important dans l'axe hypothalamo-hypophyso-gonadique. Un nouveau gène GCX-1 (SEQ ID NO:2) surexprimé dans les ovaires est isolé à partir de la bibliothèque d'ADNc de granulocytes ovariens du rat. En examinant une anomalie de ce gène et de son produit génique (SEQ ID NO:1) ou une anomalie de sa production ou lors du développement, il est possible de clarifier les causes de maladies provoquées par les anomalies dans les organes reproducteurs, par exemple, de l'infertilité, de maladies d'ovaires polycystiques, de l'endométriose, de puberté précoce et d'ostéoporose, ainsi que de traiter ces maladies.
