A collapsible reel having a high strength to weight ratio is provided. The collapsible reel comprises a core, around which a flexible media is wound, and flanges which prevent the wound flexible media from migrating axially off of the core. The core is formed of first and second blanks having hub portions and a plurality of spaced apart tabs projecting from the hub portions. To form the core, the tabs of each blank are folded and the tabs of the first blank are secured to the corresponding tabs of the second blank. The flanges are then adhered to the outer surface of the hub portions.

L'invention a pour objet un touret démontable doté d'un rapport résistance-poids élevé. Le touret démontable comprend une partie centrale, autour de laquelle un élément flexible est enroulé, et des brides qui empêchent l'élément flexible enroulé de migrer axialement hors de la partie centrale. La partie centrale est formée de première et seconde découpes dotées de parties moyeux et d'une pluralité de languettes espacées les unes des autres en saillie depuis les parties moyeux. Pour former la partie centrale, les languettes de chaque découpe sont pliées et les languettes de la première découpe sont fixées aux languettes correspondantes de la seconde découpe.
