In a structure for temporary habitation on the ice, it is generally known they are constructed of wood or canvas-like material. In a a canvas type structure for use on the ice, the difficulty has always been keeping the structure stable and secure on the ice. In this invention, the collapsible legs of the structure are prevented from slipping on the ice by placing their bases in holes drilled in blocks. These blocks have a larger base area than the legs and therefore are less susceptible to sinking in the ice. The blocks have an anti-slip base to provide good adherence to the ice. In addition, an anchoring system comprised of tie-downs frozen in the ice at one end and running diagonally to the peak ends of the structure and secured, provide long term stability for the structure.
