Disclosed is a method for recognizing by a Mobile Subscriber Station (MSS) whether a serving Base Station (BS) retains connection information in a mobile communication system including the serving BS for providing a service to the MSS and a target BS adjacent to the serving BS. The method includes the steps of receiving a handover request message from the serving BS, the handover request message including a resource remain type field representing whether the connection information having been set with the serving BS is retained, and a resource retain time field representing a connection information- retaining time by the serving BS, and recognizing that the serving BS retains the connection information during a time determined by a value of the resource retain time field.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant à un poste d'abonné mobile (MSS) de déterminer si une station de base (BS) de desserte garde des informations de connexion, dans un système de transmission mobile comprenant cette BS, en vue de fournir un service au MSS et à une BS voulue, adjacente à ladite BS. Le procédé comporte les étapes consistant à : recevoir un message de demande de transfert de la BS de desserte, ce message comprenant un champ du type permanent lié aux ressources et qui indique si les informations de connexion ayant été établies avec la BS de desserte sont retenues, et un champ temps de retenue de ressources qui indique le temps de retenue, par la BS, des informations de connexion ; et faire en sorte que la BS de desserte retienne les informations de connexion pendant la durée définie par la valeur du champ temps de retenue de ressources.
