A base assembly for a movable wall panel, which includes a lower frame member, consists of a pair of one- piece, molded support members mounted to the panel adja- cent its ends. A glide assembly, having a floor-engaging foot, is mounted to each support member. A lower cover- engaging latch member is mounted to the lower end of each support member, and each support member further includes outwardly extending ear structure defining an upwardly facing cover-engaging surface. A cover member is engage- able with the cover-engaging surface and with the lower latch member, for removably mounting the cover member to the support member. The one-piece support member, which includes the ear structure, replaces a two-piece support member and an upper cover latch member, thus simplifying construction, assembly and operation of the wall panel base assembly.
