An enlarged computer graphic image of seismic data (66) is displayed on a concave three-dimensional surface (68) having a shape corresponding to the shape of selected data extracted from a three-dimensional seismic volume (70). Thus providing an enlarged image of a seismic surface where the data is spatially correct in three-dimensions, and which increases the ease with which interpreters can locate geological features such as horizon, faults, and channels (76).

L'invention porte sur une image graphique informatique agrandie de données (66) sismiques qui est affichée sur une surface (68) tridimensionnelle concave dont la forme correspond à celle de données sélectionnées extraites d'un volume (70) sismique tridimensionnel. On obtient ainsi une image agrandie d'une surface sismique où les données sont spatialement correctes en trois dimensions, ce qui facilite encore davantage la tâche aux interprètes qui localisent les caractères géographiques tels que l'horizon, les failles et les canaux (76).
