6 A method of reinforcing a skin for an automotive component with a plurality of fibers, includes the steps of; providing a flexible skin on a mold surface, distributing chopped fibers about the skin, applying additional chopped fibers in defined areas of the skin, dispensing a resin over the chopped fibers, constraining expansion of said resin, and curing the resin to create a fiber reinforced component.
