A suction head for applying suction to a wound area comprises a first face having a substantially planar flange and a connector. The connector is adapted to connect to a suction tube. A second face has a plurality of projections. An aperture is provided from the second face, through the flange and to the connector on the first face. The projections define a plurality of channels that are adapted to facilitate flow of fluids from about the second face toward the aperture.
