A hub for a chain sprocket includes an annular member with a portion having a cylindrical exterior surface. There is a flange adjacent the surface which extends radially outward therefrom. The hub preferably includes a central cylindrical member with a central aperture. The annular member is connected to the cylindrical member. The hub is connected to a selected sprocket having a central aperture such that the cylindrical surface extends through the aperture and the flange butts up against the sprocket. The annular member is welded to the sprocket.
