A system and method that detects sequentially in the memory accesses of a cache data storage system. The system relies on either an internal analysis of the location of records sought to be accessed or hints from the host processing system. The internal analysis is designed to perform on the record level thereby avoiding a substantial number of misses prior to the detection of sequentiality.

Système et procédé de détection de séquentialités dans les accès mémoire d'un système de stockage de données en antémémoire. Le système s'appuie, soit sur une analyse interne de la position des enregistrements auxquels on veut accéder, soit sur des indices donnés par le système hôte. L'analyse interne est conçue pour opérer au niveau des enregistrements, ce qui empêche un nombre important d'accès manqués avant la détection de la séquentialité.
