ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Colour flap apparatus for displaying information comprising a colour flap unit in which a plurality of colour flaps are mounted generally radially with respect to a shaft within the colour flap unit, a motor for supplying said shaft with a driving force, a colour selection device, a rotary switch operatively connected between the motor and the colour selection device, the rotary switch comprising a rotary contact brush for forming an electrical connection with contacts within a contact pattern, the colour selection device comprising a plurality of switches equal in number to the plurality of colour flaps. The switches are connected to respective contacts within the contact pattern, the arrangement being such that a selected colour is displayed by the apparatus in dependence upon which the switches are open or closed.
