The invention relates to an ingot mould (1) for metals, which is intended for the production of an ingot through the cooling and solidification of a liquid metal mass. The inventive mould consists of a wall (2) which defines a base (4) and an inner surface (5) comprising one part S, known as the cooling surface, which can discharge all or part of the heat energy released by the metal mass during the cooling and solidification thereof. The invention is characterised in that the cooling surface S comprises at least one flat surface element Si which forms all or part of the base (4) of the ingot mould (1). The invention is also characterised in that it comprises at least one point C on a plane Pi which is tangential to each surface element Si, such that all of the segments of the straight line D connecting every point R of the cooling surface S to point C are only located inside the mould (1). The invention is further characterised in that the total area of surface elements Si is at least equal to 10 % of the surface S. The inventive ingot mould can be used to accelerate the production of ingots.

L'invention a pour objet une lingotière à métaux (1), destinée à la fabrication d'un lingot par refroidissement et solidification d'une masse de métal liquide, comportant une paroi (2) qui définit un fond (4) et une surface intérieure (5) dont une partie S, dite surface de refroidissement, apte à évacuer tout ou partie de l'énergie thermique dégagée par la masse de métal au cours de son refroidissement et de sa solidification, et caractérisée en ce que la surface de refroidissement S comprend au moins un élément de surface plan Si formant tout ou partie du fond (4) de la lingotière (1), en ce qu'il existe au moins un point C sur un plan Pi tangent à chaque élément de surface Si tel que tous les segments de droite D reliant tout point R de la surface de refroidissement S au point C passent uniquement à l'intérieur de la lingotière (1), et en ce que l'aire totale des éléments de surface Si est au moins égale à 10 % de la surface S. La lingotière selon l'invention permet d'accélérer la fabrication des lingots.
