The invention relates to a method and device for locating a shape in a space represented by pixels, which together form a multidimensional space i, j that changes over time, and represented at a series of moments T. Said data, each piece of which is associated with a time parameter A, B, etc., take the form of digital DATA(A), DATA(B), etc. signals comprising a sequence A¿ijt?, B¿ijt?, etc. of binary numbers of n bits which are associated with synchronisation signals. As a result, the moment T of the space and the position i, j in said space can be defined, at which the A¿ijt?, B¿ijt?, etc. signals are received at a given moment. According to the invention, a) a region is located in the space that is of interest according to a statistical criterion which is applied to a time parameter; b) the main region thus located is inhibited; c) steps a) and b) are repeated so as to locate other regions of interest inside a non-inhibited region in the space; d) the process is stopped when one remaining non-inhibited region in the space produces no more regions of interest corresponding to said statistical criterion; e) by means of a consecutive valid frame, a counter is incremented for each region of interest thus located and when a region of interest is lost, its associated counter is reset to zero; f) for each region of interest thus located, the centroid of the scatter plot thereof is retrieved.

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif de localisation d'une forme dans un espace représenté par des pixels formant ensemble un espace i, j multidimensionnel, évoluant dans le temps, et représenté.à une succession de moments T, lesdites données associées chacune à un paramètre temporel A, B,.. étant sous la forme de signaux DATA(A), DATA(B),.. numériques constitués d'une suite Aijt, Bijt,... de nombres binaires de n bits associés à des signaux de synchronisation permettant de définir le moment T de l'espace et la position i, j dans cet espace, auquel les signaux Aijt, Bijt,... reçus à un instant donné. Selon l'invention :a) on repère une zone d'intérêt de l'espace en fonction d'un critère statistique appliqué à un paramètre temporel, b) on inhibe la zone principale ainsi repérée, c) on réitère les étapes a) et b) de façon à repérer d'autres zones d'intérêt à l'intérieur d'une zone de l'espace non inhibée, d) on arrête le processus lorsqu'une zone restante, non inhibée, de l'espace ne produit plus de zone d'intérêt correspondant audit critère statistique, e) on incrémente par trame valide consécutive, un compteur pour chaque zone d'intérêt ainsi repérée, et que lors de la perte d'une zone d'intérêt, son compteur associé soit remis à zéro, f) on récupère pour chaque zone d'intérêt ainsi repérée, la barycentre de son nuage de points.
