The present invention provides a human tumor-associated Kazal inhibitor (TAKI) and polynucleotides which identify and encode TAKI. The invention also provides genetically engineered expression vectors and host cells comprising the nucleic acid sequences encoding TAKI and a method for producing TAKI. The invention also provides for agonists, antibodies, or antagonists specifically binding TAKI, and their use, in the prevention and treatment of intestinal diseases including cancer. Additionally, the invention provides for the use of antisense molecules to polynucleotides encoding TAKI for the treatment of diseases associated with the expression of TAKI. The invention also provides diagnostic assays which utilize the polynucleotide, or fragments of the complement thereof, and antibodies specifically binding TAKI.
L'invention concerne un inhibiteur de Kazal humain associé aux tumeurs (TAKI) et les polynucléotides qui identifient et codent TAKI. Elle porte aussi sur des vecteurs d'expression manipulés génétiquement, sur des cellules hôtes comprenant les séquences nucléotidiques codant pour TAKI et sur un procédé de production de TAKI. Elle se rapporte encore à des agonistes, des anticorps ou des antagonistes fixant spécifiquement TAKI, et à leur utilisation dans la prévention et le traitement d'affections intestinales dont le cancer. Elle concerne enfin, l'utilisation de molécules antisens dirigées contre les polynucléotides codant TAKI pour le traitement d'affections associées à l'expression de TAKI et à des dosages diagnostiques dans lesquels on utilise spécifiquement ledit polynucléotides, des fragments ou le complément de celui-ci, et des anticorps fixant spécifiquement TAKI.
