Disclosed are compositions comprising a novel cell-death protecting protein, sentrin-1, and the gene which encodes it. Also disclosed are methods of making and using sentrin polypeptides and nucleic acid segments in various diagnostic and pharmaceutical applications. In a preferred embodiment, overexpression of sentrin-1 confers protection against both anti-Fas/APO-1 and TNF-induced apoptosis.
Cette invention se rapporte à des compositions comprenant une nouvelle protéine de protection contre la mort cellulaire, la sentrine-1, et aux gènes qui codent cette protéine. Cette invention présente également des procédés de fabrication et d'utilisation de polypeptides de sentrine et de segments d'acides nucléiques de sentrine dans diverses applications diagnostiques et pharmaceutiques. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, la surexpression de sentrine-1 confère une protection à la fois contre l'apoptose anti-Fas/APO-1 et contre l'apoptose induite par TNF.
