A surface analysis method and system, the system comprising a digital imaging system for generating a digital image of a surface, a processor so coupled to the digital imaging system as to receive the digital image, to process the digital image and to generate a processed digital image highlighting relief variations in the surface, and a display system for displaying the processed digital image. The processor being so configured as to apply at least one digital filter to the digital image to highlight relief variation in the surface.

L'invention porte sur un procédé et un système d'analyse de surfaces comportant: un système d'imagerie numérique permettant d'obtenir une image numérique d'une surface; un processeur couplé au système d'imagerie pour recevoir l'image numérique, la traiter, et produire une image numérique traitée soulignant les variations de relief de la surface; et un système de présentation de l'image numérique traitée. Le processeur est configuré pour appliquer au moins un filtre numérique à l'image numérique pour souligner les variations de relief de la surface.
