Disclosed herein are indwelling medical devices suitable for introduction into the body of a subject, wherein the indwelling medical devices comprise one or more surfaces on which a bacterial biofilm can form, and an effective amount of a bacteriophage composition carried by one or more of the surfaces, wherein the bacteriophage composition inhibits formation of the bacterial biofilm on the indwelling medical device. Also disclosed herein are methods of inhibiting the formation of bacterial biofilms on indwelling medical devices.

L'invention concerne des dispositifs médicaux à demeure, qui s'introduisent dans le corps d'un sujet. Ces dispositifs présentent une ou plusieurs surfaces sur lesquelles un film bactérien peut se former, et une quantité efficace d'une composition bactériophage disposée sur une ou plusieurs desdites surfaces. La composition bactériophage inhibe la formation du film bactérien sur le dispositif médical à demeure. L'invention concerne en outre des méthodes pouvant inhiber la formation de biofilms bactériens sur des dispositifs médicaux à demeure.
